A charge from 2CO.COM on your statement

2CO.COM is 2Checkout, now part of Verifone. It sells software and online services on behalf of other companies, and "all transactions we process will appear on your statement as 2co.com."2 The name after the * or | is the product. 2Checkout says the charge is usually a recent purchase or a subscription that renewed.1 You can look it up at secure.2co.com/myaccount/order_lookup.

The short answer

2Checkout is the legal seller of the product. Its terms call it the "Merchant of Record" and authorised reseller.6 That is why its name, not the app’s, is on your statement. Payment questions go to 2Checkout, which says its shopper support answers 24 hours a day; questions about the product itself go to the company that makes it.1

What it looks like on a real statement

The product name is squeezed into a few characters after 2CO.COM. These are the forms we found, each from the page cited:

2CO.COM statement lines, as printed or typed by the person who saw them
What the statement said Product Where it was reported
2CO.com*bitwig.com AMSTERDAM NLD Bitwig upgrade plan A cardholder on the KVR Audio forum, April 20207
2co.com*123formbuilder amsterdam 123FormBuilder A cardholder on Jotform’s support forum, November 20218
2CO.com*bitdefender.co Bitdefender Bitdefender’s own support page9
2CO.com|Spybot – Searc Spybot Spybot’s maker on its own forum, February 202510

AMSTERDAM or NLD on the line does not mean the charge is foreign fraud. 2Checkout sells to buyers outside the US through Verifone Payments B.V. in Amsterdam.6

How to find the order and stop it

  1. Search your email for the receipt After a purchase, 2Checkout says you should have received a receipt by email "from 2Checkout (or Avangate)".1 Search every address you use, including spam, for 2Checkout, Avangate, Verifone, the product name on the line, and the amount.
  2. Use the order lookup Go to secure.2co.com/myaccount/order_lookup. You can search by order number, using the email address and order reference number from the receipt, or by card details if you have no receipt.3
  3. Stop the automatic renewal Log in to 2CO myAccount, open My Products, and click "Stop automatic license renewal" under the product.4 2Checkout’s terms say you must cancel before the renewal date. If you cancel after it, "you will be charged for that renewal term".6 2Checkout also says it tells you "at least 7 days before" a subscription renews.4 Search your email for that notice too: it names the product.
  4. Ask for a refund 2Checkout’s instruction is to email support@2checkout.com with your order number and the reason you want to cancel.5 Its shopper support page lists phone numbers too: +31 88 000 0008 internationally and (650) 963-5701 for the USA and Canada, and says it tries to resolve every question within 48 hours.1 Ask in writing and keep the reply.
  5. If nobody helps, or you never agreed to it, go to your bank Tell your card issuer you want to dispute the charge. Bring the statement line exactly as printed, every date and amount, and what you already tried. Ask what its deadline is for disputes. It depends on your bank, the card network and the reason, and missing it can end your options.

Is 2CO.COM a scam?

2Checkout is a real company. Its terms name the seller as Avangate, Inc. of New York for purchases from the US, and Verifone Payments B.V. (formerly Avangate B.V.) in Amsterdam for the rest of the world.6 Most 2CO.COM charges people ask about turn out to be renewals they forgot.

The KVR Audio case is typical. A cardholder got a text in April 2020 that 10,450 roubles, "equal to 129 eur", had been taken from their card by 2CO.com*bitwig.com AMSTERDAM NLD, and said they had not ordered anything. The same day they posted that Bitwig had answered: "it was auto-renew", and a refund would be made.7 That is their account, not our finding. If you are sure nobody who uses your card bought anything, treat the charge as unauthorized and call your bank.

Other names you might see

2Checkout is one of several companies that sell software on behalf of the people who make it. DRI* is Digital River, FS * or FSPRG is FastSpring, CBI* is Cleverbridge, and PADDLE.NET is Paddle. All of them are in the table of unfamiliar charges.
