A CBI* or CLEVERBRIDGE charge on your statement

Cleverbridge sells software and online services on behalf of the companies that make them, so its name goes on your statement instead of theirs. A line that starts CBI is usually followed by the product, such as CBI PARALLELS or CBI ATLAS.TI. You can have every Cleverbridge order sent to your email from its Purchase Lookup page.¹²

What it looks like on a real statement

The State of South Carolina publishes every charge on its government cards each month. These are Cleverbridge lines from those reports, as printed. The report leaves out the * and may cut long names short, so your own statement can read CBI* where these read CBI.⁹

So the same company shows up in at least six ways: CBI plus a product, CBI CLEVERBRIDGE.NET, WWW.CLEVERBRIDGE.NET, CLEVERBRIDGE INC., and through Amazon or PayPal. In the South Carolina reports we read, the most common CBI lines were CBI PARALLELS, CBI ATLAS.TI and CBI ENDNOTE. ATLAS.ti says "Cleverbridge manages all sales, invoices, and payments".⁷ Malwarebytes lists CBI*MALWAREBYTES, CBA*MALWAREBYTES, HSA*MALWAREBYTES and www.cleverbridge.net as its own charges.⁸

How to find the order and cancel it

1. Search your email for "Cleverbridge" and the amount "For any charge that shows Cleverbridge’s details, we send a confirmation email that contains all of your order information."¹ Search every address you use, including spam, for Cleverbridge, the word after CBI, and the amount (for example 39.95). The email has the order reference number you need for the next steps.
2. Have your orders sent to you On the Purchase Lookup page, enter an email address. Cleverbridge says it will "email you an overview of all orders processed under that email address."² Try each address you might have used.
3. Cancel the subscription Use the cancellation form. It asks for the email you bought with, the order reference number and a reason, then emails you a link. You have to open that email and click Complete Cancellation, or nothing is cancelled.³ Then check your next statement to make sure it stopped.
4. Ask for a refund Use the refund form with the same email and order number. "Unwanted Auto-Renewal" is one of the reasons you can pick. Again, you must click Start Refund in the email it sends.⁴ Each software company sets its own refund rules. Parallels, for example, gives a full refund within 30 days of your first purchase but says it "cannot accept returns for renewal transactions".¹⁰ One Parallels customer wrote in August 2026 that they were charged $99.99 for a renewal, cancelled the same day, and "Cleverbridge said no, citing KB 123877."¹³ Ask anyway, in writing, and keep the reply for your bank. A refund switches off your licence and "cannot be reversed".⁴
5. If you cannot find the order, write to them, then go to your bank Cleverbridge has no phone support; it answers through a web form.⁵ It asks for the exact amount and currency, the date, the last four digits of the card (or the PayPal invoice ID), and any other email you might have used.¹ If nobody you know made the purchase, or it will not stop, tell your card issuer you want to dispute it. Bring the line exactly as printed and what you already tried, and ask what its deadline is. It depends on your bank, the card network and the reason.

Why it charged you again

Most Cleverbridge charges that people do not recognise are renewals: software bought a year ago that renews on the same date. The terms Cleverbridge publishes say a cancellation takes effect only from the end of "the then current Subscription term". So cancel well before the renewal date, not on it. They also say Cleverbridge will tell you about a price change "so that the Customer is able to cancel the Subscription before the first billing of the changed price."⁶ Search your email for that notice before the renewal date. The terms that apply to your order are the ones linked in your confirmation email, which may be newer than the June 2021 version we read.

Is Cleverbridge legit?

It is a real company. Its legal page names Cleverbridge GmbH in Cologne, Germany, and Cleverbridge Inc. at 350 N. Clark St., Chicago.¹¹ A charge from it is usually a real purchase. Do not wait on its help pages alone, though. On 26 September 2026 its own article about this charge had 1,959 reader votes with a net score of −1,211, which means about four in five readers said it did not help.¹² If the lookup finds nothing and no one answers, go to your bank before its deadline.
