A charge from NEXWAY on your statement
NEXWAY is Nexway SASU, a French company at 19 Avenue Feuchères, 30000 Nîmes, registered under RCS Nîmes 440 953 859.7 It sells downloadable software as the reseller behind other companies’ online stores. Its own help centre says: “You have been debited for an order placed in one of our clients’ online stores. Nexway manages the e-commerce platforms of several publishers and online retailers of downloadable PC software, PC video games and Android™ apps.”2 The line therefore carries Nexway’s name even when the store you used had a different one.
This is a real reseller, not a card-testing scam. If you or someone using your card bought a download licence in a store run by Nexway, the charge is that order. Cancellation is possible only within the withdrawal period of the store where you bought it — Nexway publishes no period of its own and points to the store’s terms.4 Nexway says refunds are “usually completed within 7 business days”, but that a card refund may only appear on the statement covering the next 3 to 4 weeks.5 If you have no order at all, write to Nexway with the amount, the debit date and your email address before disputing the charge with your card issuer.
What the statement line says
The descriptor can be just NEXWAY, or carry the product after it:
NEXWAY SYSTRAN NEXWAY is the form that appears in Delaware’s public
purchasing-card record. When the sale goes through an antivirus publisher’s own store,
Avast’s official table maps the same company to CB AVAST NEXWAY and, for PayPal,
PAYPAL *NEXWAY.9 The line does not have
to name the software you bought.
Delaware’s dataset is one of the few places a real NEXWAY line can be read without a
cardholder’s screenshot. On 5 November 2026 it held three lines containing
NEXWAY, all reading NEXWAY SYSTRAN NEXWAY, all from January 2020 and all filed
under “Computer Software Stores”.1
| Date | Amount | Line as published |
|---|---|---|
| 8 January 2020 | $249.00 | NEXWAY SYSTRAN NEXWAY |
| 14 January 2020 | −$249.00 | NEXWAY SYSTRAN NEXWAY |
| 18 January 2020 | $249.00 | NEXWAY SYSTRAN NEXWAY |
The record contains a credit as well as debits: a refund of the same amount appears on 14 January 2020, six days after the first charge and four days before the second. It is filed under the same merchant name, which is how a refunded NEXWAY order will normally look on a statement. The record does not say which order the credit reversed, and this page does not infer it.
Who Nexway is
Nexway’s legal notice gives the company as Nexway SASU, with the Nîmes address, the RCS number and French VAT number FR33 440953859.7 Its help centre describes the business in the first person: it is “an authorized online reseller of software, electronic content and services”, responsible “for the online purchasing process for several software producers”. The same article states the consequence plainly: “You may, therefore, find ‘Nexway’ listed on your credit card bill, even though you have purchased software in a store with a different name.”3
That is the whole reason the line looks unfamiliar. The store’s name, the publisher’s name and the name on the statement can be three different companies, and only the last one is on the card. The company’s own site markets the same service as “merchant of record”: the seller on the receipt is Nexway, not the publisher.7
How to cancel a NEXWAY order
- Find the order, not just the charge. Search every email address you use for the store’s name, for “Nexway”, and for the amount on the statement. Nexway’s cancellation article asks for a customer number, an order number and the email address used for the order; the order confirmation carries the first two.4
- Check the withdrawal period of the store you bought from. Nexway’s article says an order can be cancelled “provided that you cancel your order within the given time frame for the Right of Withdrawal/Revocation”, and sends the reader to the “Right of Revocation/Withdrawal” section of the shopping cart of that store. It publishes no single Nexway-wide number of days.4 The period therefore depends on the store, and for a download it often ends once the download has started.
- Submit the request. Use the “New support ticket” button on the help centre and give the customer number, the order number, the order email address and a short reason for cancelling.4 Keep the ticket number.
- If it is a subscription, cancel it where it is managed. On 5 November 2026 the English help centre listed 28 articles; none covered cancelling a subscription. The only cancellation article covers cancelling an order within the store’s withdrawal period.4 A subscription sold through a Nexway-run store is therefore cancelled through that store’s account pages or its support, not through a Nexway subscription page.
- If the card was charged twice for one order, Nexway asks for the customer number, the order number, the exact amount charged and the date the card was debited.3
- If you never ordered anything, write to Nexway first with the exact amount, the debit date, your name and the email address you normally use for online orders. The same article says its staff “will never ask you for your full credit card number, for security reasons”.3 If no order is found, tell your card issuer that you do not recognise the merchant and have no order or receipt.
What Nexway publishes about refunds
Nexway’s Refund Policy page, dated 21 July 2026, contains no refund conditions. It lists only
how to submit a request: a form at nexwayhelp.zendesk.com, the address
customercare@nexway.com, and two postal addresses — Customer Support, 19 Avenue
Feuchères, CS 70002, 30020 Nîmes Cedex, France, and 235 West Lake Center #30, Daly City,
CA 94014, USA. The page is repeated in about twenty languages, with the same three channels
each time.6
The timing is on a separate help article. “Reimbursements are usually completed within 7 business days.” For a card payment, Nexway says the refund may be visible within a few days, or else “will be listed on your account statement covering the next 3 to 4 weeks”. For a payment made by bank transfer, Nexway asks for the IBAN and SWIFT because it says it does not store bank details.5
Two different sets of telephone numbers appear in the help centre, which is worth knowing before spending time on hold. The customer-service article gives +33 971 072 059 for Europe and +1 (415) 704-5586 for the Americas.8 The reimbursement article gives a separate pair for customers who paid by bank transfer: 877 873 1459 in the US and +49 (0)721 9 64 58 8092 in Europe.5
Is a NEXWAY charge a scam?
No. Nexway is a registered company with a published legal notice, a help centre that explains its own descriptor, and a refund page that accepts requests by form, email and post. The confusion is structural: a white-label checkout puts the reseller’s name on the card and leaves the store’s name off it.
An unrecognised charge is still unrecognised. If no order, receipt or subscription exists under any of your email addresses, ask Nexway for the order details in writing; if none is produced, dispute the charge with your card issuer. The same applies to a download licence you did not authorise, which is a different claim from an order you forgot to cancel — say which one it is.
Resellers that appear on statements in the same way are covered in the AVAST descriptor table (which lists Nexway’s two lines), the CBI* and Cleverbridge page and the DRI* page for Digital River, which resold subscriptions until it shut down in 2025. Other unfamiliar statement names are in the table of charges.
