A Walmart charge on your statement: WAL-MART #, WM SUPERCENTER, WALMART.COM or WMT PLUS

Walmart puts four kinds of name on a card statement. WAL-MART # or WM SUPERCENTER # with a number and a town is a purchase at a store; the number is the store’s.⁹¹² WALMART.COM, often followed by 8009256278 and BENTONVILLE AR, is an order placed on the website or app.⁹¹¹ WMT PLUS or WALMART MEMBER with a month or a year is the Walmart+ membership fee.¹¹

What it looks like on a real statement

Schools publish their purchasing card statements. These lines are copied from two of them, issued by different banks:

One store, two names

The same store can appear under both WAL-MART # and WM SUPERCENTER #. Woodland’s one statement has both WAL-MART #3742 and WM SUPERCENTER #3742, in the same town, in the same weeks of August 2026.⁸ Walmart’s page for store 3742 is the Walmart Supercenter in Woodland, Washington.¹² The Louisiana school system’s cards show WAL-MART #0541 and WM SUPERCENTER #541, and WAL-MART #0553 and WM SUPERCENTER #553, the same number with and without the leading zero.¹⁰

The State of Delaware publishes every purchase its employees make on state cards. When we counted on 18 October 2026, its data had 28,168 store lines under 226 WAL-MART # numbers and 177 WM SUPERCENTER # numbers; 96 numbers appear under both. The busiest, store 2791, has 3,001 lines as WAL-MART #2791 and 2,685 as WM SUPERCENTER #2791, both from June 2014 to September 2026.¹¹ We did not find a Walmart page that says which purchases get which name. Either way, the number tells you the store: put it after walmart.com/store/ to see where it is.¹²

The phone number after WALMART.COM changed in May 2024

Online orders in Delaware’s data come under these names:¹¹

The last WALMART.COM 8009666546 line is dated 4 May 2024 and the first WALMART.COM 8009256278 line 6 May 2024.¹¹ So an older statement shows 800-966-6546 and a newer one 800-925-6278, for the same kind of order. Spelled on a phone keypad, 925-6278 is WALMART; that reading is ours. Some banks still print both: Woodland’s September 2026 statement has WALMART.COM 8009256278 800-966-6546 AR, the new number in the name and the old one where the town usually goes.⁸

WMT PLUS and WALMART MEMBER: the Walmart+ fee

Walmart’s billing page gives examples of what a Walmart+ charge looks like: “Walmart+ Member 08/25” or “Walmart+ Member PRORATED” for the membership, and separate lines starting W+Paramount+, Walmart+Inhome or W+Inhome+ for the two add-ons.³ On Delaware’s cards the name was WMT PLUS with a year or a month (WMT PLUS 2024, WMT PLUS NOV 2025) from October 2023 to 18 January 2026, and WALMART MEMBER (WALMART MEMBER 2026, WALMART MEMBER 07/26) from 8 March 2026, without the plus sign. In 2022 and 2023 the fee also came as WALMART MEMBERSHIP, $98.00 at a time.¹¹ A year after the name goes with an annual fee, a month with a monthly fee or the trial. On 8 March 2026 one school district’s annual fee came as three WALMART MEMBER 2026 lines, $68.60, $24.50 and $4.90, which add up to $98.00.

Most of those lines are $98.00, $12.95, $6.47 or $1.00, and one is $49.00.¹¹ Walmart+ Assist, for people on SNAP, WIC, Medicaid and similar programs, is “50% off the regular price”: $6.47 a month or $49 a year.⁷ The $1.00 is the trial: Walmart charges $1 for it and, when it ends, renews the membership automatically at the plan’s price.³ Each renewal is first held as a pending charge on or after the billing date.³

Walmart says it does not refund Walmart+. The card records show refunds

Walmart’s billing page says: “We’re not able to offer refunds on Walmart+.”³ In Delaware’s data, money comes back under a third name, WALMART MEMBERSHIP. Every one of its eight lines since January 2024 is a refund, and six of them match a Walmart+ charge in the same office shortly before:¹¹

The data does not say why each refund was made; these are a state government’s cards, and the charges may not have been meant for them. It does show that a Walmart+ fee can come back, in full or nearly, from the same day to 25 days after it was charged. If you were charged for a membership you did not mean to keep, it is worth asking Walmart before you go to your bank.

A pending amount that is more than the order, or two of them

For a pickup, delivery or shipped order, Walmart first authorizes an estimated amount, and your bank holds it as pending. The hold can be higher than the final charge because of items priced by weight, substitutions, a changed quantity, a cancellation or a bag fee. The final total is charged once the order is picked up, delivered or shipped. Walmart says it cannot remove the hold, only the bank can, and that this can take “up to 10 days after the order is complete”.²

Two holds for one online order can mean checkout took longer than 15 minutes after you picked a time slot, so you had to pick a new one, or that you added items after placing the order.² If you cancel before the item ships, Walmart releases the hold; once it has shipped, it cannot be canceled, only returned.⁴

How to find it and get the money back

1. Look in Purchase History Sign in to Walmart.com and open Purchase History. Store purchases made with a card saved in the account are added automatically, including those from the last 12 months, if the name on the card matches the name on the account.⁶ Check every Walmart account in the household.
2. For a store line, look up the receipt Walmart’s receipt lookup needs the store’s ZIP code or town, the purchase date, the receipt total, and the card type and last four digits. Walmart says to take the date and amount from your statement.⁶ The store number on the line tells you which store to enter.¹²
3. Return it, or cancel Walmart+ Walmart.com returns are refunded to the card, “typically within 7 days”.⁴ To stop Walmart+: Walmart+, Manage membership, Manage beside Walmart+ plan, Cancel beside Cancel membership, then Confirm cancellation.⁵ The same page offers a one-month pause, up to three times a year.⁵
4. If it is not yours Walmart says a Walmart.com charge you do not recognize may mean your card is compromised. It asks you to use Chat with us and type Unauthorized Charges, and to contact your bank to dispute the charge, reset your Walmart password and delete saved payment information.¹ Ask your bank what its deadline is.

Is this a scam?

The names are real: school systems in Washington and Louisiana and the State of Delaware pay them every month.⁸¹⁰¹¹ A real name does not make every charge yours. A WALMART.COM line can be an order someone else placed with your card number, which is why Walmart’s page sends you to your bank.¹ A store line names a town; if you have not been to that store, look it up before you assume anything.

Why this page is on a site about held money

This site records payment companies that hold back money that belongs to someone else. Walmart is not in the incident record; the closest parts of this page are the pending hold that can stay for 10 days after an order is complete, and the membership fee that Walmart says it does not refund. Amazon orders show up as AMAZON MKTPL or AMZN MKTP US, and a seller paid through PayPal as PAYPAL *. Walmart’s warehouse club bills as SAMS CLUB RENEWAL, SAMSCLUB # or SAMSCLUB.COM, and unlike Walmart+ its membership fee is refundable. Target store lines changed to TARGET T- in May 2026, and a Temu order is TEMU.COM. Other lines are in the table of statement names.
