A charge from WIX.COM on your statement
A line like WIX.COM 1254270629 is a bill from Wix, the website builder and
domain registrar. Wix says its charges “appear on your bank or card statement with an
invoice number”, and the number after WIX.COM is the only number on the
line.1 Wix has a page that takes that invoice
number and tells you what it was for, without logging in.
Copy the number after WIX.COM. Open Wix’s
charge locator and enter it with the last four
digits and the expiry date of the card that was charged.1
If it is a website plan you no longer want, cancel it in the Wix account; a domain or
business email has to be switched off separately.4
New plans can be refunded within 14 days; renewals are not covered, though Wix says it
will review a request.3 If nobody who uses your card has a Wix
site, call your bank and dispute the charge.
What it looks like on a real statement
The State of Delaware publishes every purchase made on state employees’ cards, with the merchant name as the bank received it. On 17 October 2026 it had 129 lines from Wix, from July 2014 to July 2026. 84 of them carry a nine- or ten-digit number.6
| What the statement said | Lines | First and last seen | Example |
|---|---|---|---|
WIX.COM* and the number | 61 | July 2015 to February 2025 | WIX.COM*11584346756 |
WIX.COM, a space and the number | 20 | March 2022 to July 2026 | WIX.COM 12504525896 |
WIX*WIX.COM INC., no number | 17 | December 2019 to March 2024 | WIX*WIX.COM INC.6 |
WIX.COM INC., sometimes with the number | 17 | June 2018 to July 2025 | WIX.COM INC. 11625346936 |
WIX.COM*PREMIUM-PLAN or WIX.COM PREMIUM-PLAN | 8 | October 2020 to September 2021 | WIX.COM*PREMIUM-PLAN6 |
WIX.COM* and a site name | 2 | January 2021 | WIX.COM*IRSDEARLYLEARNING6 |
The other four lines are a bare WIX.COM twice in 2023 and two forms from 2014,
one of them WIX.COM 800-600-0949.6 Since November 2025 every Wix line in
Delaware’s records is WIX.COM, a space and the
number.6
Not every statement prints the number. South Carolina publishes its state agencies’ card
purchases each month, with the star taken out. From November 2025 to August 2026 it has 61
lines reading WIX.COM, and 32 of them carry a ten-digit number; the rest are
just WIX.COM.7 Clemson University
was charged $3.19 by Wix on the 3rd of every month in that period. Six of the ten lines
have a number and every number is different, for example WIX.COM 1217171615 on
3 January 2026 and WIX.COM 1254270629 on 3 August 2026; the other four are
bare WIX.COM.7 So each charge has its
own invoice number, and last month’s number will not find this month’s charge. If your
statement shows no number, Wix asks you to contact it with the last four digits of the
card, the name on the card, the amount, the date and what the statement says (its example
is Wix.com NY 12312312).1
The number tells you roughly when
The invoice numbers only go up. They had nine digits until the middle of 2022 and have had ten since: the last nine-digit one in Delaware’s records is dated 30 May 2022, the first ten-digit one 11 July 2022.6
| Year | Lowest seen | Highest seen |
|---|---|---|
| 2016 | 119773539 | 122419722 |
| 2017 | 130385511 | 168422571 |
| 2018 | 246601862 | 353683891 |
| 2019 | 400019501 | 511468023 |
| 2020 | 592444121 | 825029753 |
| 2021 | 874423701 | 937345552 |
| 2022 | 980764889 | 1016904433 |
| 2023 | 1036635807 | 1065867307 |
| 2024 | 1101031315 | 1126650141 |
| 2025 | 1158434675 | 1213680965 |
| 2026 | 1217171615 | 1256109231 |
The table combines Delaware’s records (2016 to July 2026) and South Carolina’s (November 2025 to August 2026).67 The pattern is our reading of these records, not something Wix has published. It is useful for one check: a 2026 charge should carry a number starting with 12. A nine-digit number on a recent charge was probably copied from an old statement or mistyped.
Why the amount or the date is not what you expected
Wix lists the reasons in its own help pages:2
- Several things in one charge. Wix “may consolidate your recurring payments” for plans, domains, business emails and paid apps “in one transaction”, so the amount may not match the price of any one of them.2
- Charged before the renewal date. Monthly plans are charged on the expiry date, yearly plans “up to 3 weeks prior”, domains and business emails 30 days before they expire.2
- The sale price was for the first year. “Sale prices are valid for the first year of service only”; renewals are at the standard rate.2
- A failed payment was tried again. When a payment is declined, Wix “automatically attempts to charge it again a few days later” until it succeeds, so an old and a current payment can land in the same month.5
- A new card was charged anyway. Wix “may automatically update your saved card information if the expiry date or card number changes”, through the card networks’ updater services, so a replaced card does not by itself stop a Wix renewal.2
Yearly renewals in Delaware’s records show the price moving. Two unrelated state accounts were renewed in the same week of February 2023 and both went up to $324:6
| Account | Charges |
|---|---|
| Indian River School District | $264 in February 2020, 2021 and 2022; $324 on 15 February 2023 and 16 February 2024; $348 on 18 February 2025 and 10 February 2026 |
| Department of Natural Resources, Parks and Recreation | $276 in February 2020, 2021 and 2022; $324 on 13 February 2023 |
| Delaware Technical Community College, Owens Campus | $149 every July from 2014 to 2023; $348 on 20 July 2024, 17 July 2025 and 12 July 2026 |
The records do not say whether a jump came from a price change, the end of a sale price or a change of plan.6
One plan, many names
The name on the line changes even when the bill does not. Indian River School District paid
Wix $14.95 around 23 January every year. Over seven years the line read
WIX.COM*592444121 (2020), WIX.COM*IRSDEARLYLEARNING (2021),
WIX*WIX.COM INC. (2022), WIX.COM*1036635807 (2023),
WIX*WIX.COM INC. (2024), WIX.COM*1158434675 (2025) and, at $17.95,
WIX.COM 1220749239 (2026).6 Red Clay
Consolidated School District’s $22 monthly charge, around the 6th, appeared under four different
names in twelve months, from February 2020 to January
2021.6 If you are matching a statement against
Wix invoices, go by the date and the amount, not by the exact words.
How to find the charge and stop it
- Look the number up with the charge locator Wix’s charge locator works without logging in. It needs the invoice number, the last four digits of the card and the card’s expiry date. It only covers services paid by card and “is not yet available in all locations”.1
- Or search the number in the Wix account In Billing History, enter the invoice number, open Options next to the service and click About This Charge. It shows the service, whether it was a renewal, the amount, the date, the card and the period covered. If the invoice is not there, it may belong to another account; Wix has an Email Locator for that.1
- Cancel each thing separately Cancelling a Premium or Studio plan after the first 14 days turns off auto-renewal and the plan runs to the end of the period. A domain or business email bought through Wix keeps renewing until its own auto-renew is turned off: “you must turn off the auto-renew feature for these services separately.” Cancelling the plan does not take the site down either.4
- Ask for a refund in time Wix offers a “14-day, money-back guarantee” on new Premium and Studio plans, monthly or yearly. It does not apply to renewals, to upgrades of an existing plan or to domains; for those, Wix says to contact it and it will review the request. Wix says to allow up to 45 business days for a refund to arrive.3
- If nobody you know has a Wix site, go to your bank Tell your card issuer you want to dispute the charge, read them the line exactly as printed, and ask for a new card. Because Wix can pick up a replaced card’s new details through the card networks, also ask the bank to block further charges from Wix.2 Ask what the bank’s deadline for disputes is; it depends on the bank, the card network and the reason.
Refunds come back under the same invoice number. Delaware’s records have three negative Wix lines, each with the number and amount of an earlier charge: $264 refunded 22 days after the charge in 2019, $264 two days after in 2023, and $45 21 days after in 2024.6 A plan cancelled within 72 hours of buying it may never show a refund at all: Wix says the original charge can instead drop off the statement within 20 business days.3
Is it a scam?
A line reading WIX.COM with an invoice number is a real charge from Wix for
its own services. It is not a purchase from a shop that happens to be built on Wix: shops
that take cards through Wix Payments set their own statement name, and Wix tells them it
must not be one “already in use (e.g. ‘Wix.com’)”.8
A line with a name followed by .WIXSITE.CO is a different thing: free Wix
sites live at addresses ending in wixsite.com,4
and the two such lines in South Carolina’s reports, for $50 and $500, are on our reading payments to
whoever runs that site, not to Wix.7
Wix charges whatever card is saved on a Wix account, and anyone can open one. If the charge locator finds nothing you recognise and nobody you know has a Wix site, treat it as unauthorized and call your bank.
Other names
This site records payment companies that hold back money belonging to someone else. Wix is not in the incident record; this page is here so that people searching for a name on a statement find an answer. If you used to have a website through Vistaprint, its billing is moving to Wix and will now show as Wix.com; see the VISTAPRINT page. A domain bought from GoDaddy rather than Wix shows as DNH*GODADDY, and website tools sold through another company often show that company’s name, such as PADDLE.NET. Other names are in the table of statement names.
